The Complete Whole House Water Treatment System

This is a self-backwashing Solid State Automatic microprocessor with LED display Electronics control valve system that automatically removes the trapped contaminants within the filter bed and washes them down the drain. Requires only periodic backwash to keep unit in top condition.

Water travels through 6 stages of filtration:
First stage, water flows through a 20" sediment cartridge that removes sediment, silt, sand and dirt. Also extends the life of water softeners and water filters, and prevents damage to control valves.

Second, Third and Forth stages, water flows through a KDF-85.KDF-55 and GAC mineral tank which removes hundreds of contaminations.
Fifth stage, water flows through an ion exchange mineral tank and brine water conditioner.

Sixth stage, water flows through a 20" solid carbon cartridge for removing volatile organic carbon compounds (VOC's), insecticides, pesticides and industrial solvents.*

TO HELP DETERMINE SOFTENER SIZE

Softeners are made in several sizes, rated by the number of grains of hardness they can handle between regenerations. Units rated from about 12,000 to 16,000 grains are considered small; medium-size units run from 20,000 to 40,000 grains; and large-capacity models can handle 40,000 grains or more.

First you need to have your water tested to find what the hardness of water is in grains per gallon. You can figure the size of softener your family needs by multiplying the number of people in your household--say five--by 75, the average number of gallons used per person per day. In this case (5X75), your answer--375 gallons--is then multiplied by the number of grains per gallon of hardness minerals present--say 10. The answer (375X10), 3750 in this case, is the number of grains of hardness requiring removal each day. Compare this to the recharge cycle of the unit you're considering to see how frequently regeneration must occur. The idea is to get a unit that will go at least three days between recharges (3X3750=11,250 grains minium). Ideally, it can also handle times when you have guests or larger than normal water needs. For this case a 48,000 grain unit would recharge just over every 12 days.
